Operations Manager for Fritidsbanken

The Culture, Parks and Recreation Department is in an exciting phase and is facing major development and construction projects. Do you want to help create meaningful leisure activities for residents of all ages?

Piteå municipality is looking for an operations manager for Fritidsbanken. Fritidsbanken is part of the municipality's work with social sustainability and offers free lending of sports and leisure equipment. The purpose of Fritidsbanken is to promote active leisure, joy of movement, and equal health.

During the implementation phase, Fritidsbanken has been operated as a project but is now transitioning to a permanent operation with a planned opening in the summer of 2026.

As the operations manager, you will have overall responsibility for ensuring a well-functioning operation with high quality in service and reception.

Job Responsibilities

Your duties include:

  • Managing the daily operations of Fritidsbanken, leading and distributing work for employees, interns, volunteers, and individuals within labor market initiatives
  • Ensuring that the operation is conducted according to applicable guidelines, policies, and goals.
  • Developing and maintaining collaboration with associations, schools, municipal operations, businesses, and civil society.
  • Planning and implementing fundraising initiatives and information campaigns.
  • Collecting statistics, documenting and reporting results, and contributing to strategic development work.
  • Promoting increased accessibility, inclusion, and sustainable resource use.
  • Representing Fritidsbanken in relevant networks and operational forums.
  • Responsible for operational planning, follow-up, and development
  • Working with communication and making the operation visible
  • Contributing to the department's overall goals within Culture, Parks, and Recreation

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Post-secondary education or experience deemed equivalent by the employer
  • Experience in leadership or coordinating roles
  • Good ability to plan, structure, and drive work forward
  • An inclusive approach and good collaboration skills
  • Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

Meritorious

  • Experience from municipal operations or the non-profit sector.
  • Experience in project management and collaborative processes.
  • Experience working with sustainable development or circular methods.
